Why frustrating? – well the sun shone at the wrong time so many of the shots were dull, Snafu (the P47) kept well away from us and didn’t show its topside and finally I blew what should have been the shot of the day (see the last picture)
I had hoped for sunshine on the Lightning but it was not to be

Bearcat
P47 ‘Snafu’
Sally B
The Ju 52 at least got some good light against a dark sky
Norwegian DC3 but why the RAF markings? We couldn’t hear the commentary on the bank
P40
Two Beech Staggerwings brightened up the place when the sun did shine

Buchon takes off to join the ‘Balbo’
The ‘interesting’ reproduction Sikorski S38 amphibian. It seemed to have two of eveything except the fuselage – which was wide enough for two
and finally after the Lord Mayor’s show – the dustcart
The Catalina and Sikorski were coming out of the sun and I failed to realise this was going to happen until too late and grabbed this shot – but it ain’t sharp! Did anyone get a decent one? The Sikorski was overtaking the Catalina so it needed a higher shutter speed too.

The first microlight flying boat camping safari caravan? Talk about raiding the parts bin!
Like a really ugly duckling alongside a graceful swan…
Was Benard Jibber-Jabber doing the endless commentary again this year? If you couldn’t hear it then be thankful?
First Legends I have missed since they began – from what I have seen, apart from the P-47 and the flying zebra I haven’t missed too much…
