I thought it was about time Ali and I headed south to see our friends at Coventry again, so we decided to make a weekend on it with a trip to Coventry on Saturday and Bruntingthorpe on Sunday.
The day started brightly
But soon threatening clouds rolled in

I finally got to see the Meteor T7 in the metal!
Ali’s shot of one of the Daks from the Shack’s nose turret
We also had a surprise visitor pop in to drop crew off to take the Anson to Abingdon
Props together
Time for a couple more shots in the hangar before the Anson and Dak depart

Love the views from the far end without the crowd in, glad you had a great weekend.

Blue2. Nice photos Graham, but rather frightning to say I have flown in the Oxbox, Anson, Meteor, Shackleton, about ????yrs ago, not only do these old ladies still fly, but worse still, so does time.Hey Ho:)

Then we were back down to where the action was to greet the new arrivals
The undead Jaguar (FC members will understand this!)

And SHAR
Nice display by the Canberra after a smoky start

The Victor did a second run too

Victor under power on a runway. A sight which has not been seen at Elvington for far too long… 🙁
Lightning was a star performer as ever

And 900 made another run too
Last 2 for me, Ollie (Victor Sim) Tries to out-smoke the Canberra with a Hunter T.7 before taking it for a little walk

There was much more, such as the Nimrod, Comet, Iskra, plus the BBMF Spit XIX visit, but these are my highlights. It was nice to catch up with a few familiar faces too, and to finally get round to seeing the good work going on in the Beech hangar (from whom I bought a quality Phantom patch!)

Sunday saw excellent weather for CWJ at Brunty. We were lucky enough to be able to accompany the TBAG guys and get involved in their preparations to run. Some for the Bucc fans

Down the runway
The Beech 18 coming in to land
The Victor opened proceedings with her first run of the day
The Buccs headed down the field, and so did we. A different view of their display
And some shameless shots of 544 taxying in

Some shots of the 2 old ladies starting and taxying out

And finally, what I really went to see! 😀
