Apart from Legends I was using mainly the Sony 70-300mm G SSM zoom lens on my A580 camera at air shows last year so after it’s sabbatical, and a bit of weight training, I’ve dug out and dusted off my Sony 70-400mm G SSM zoom and have it attached to the mirror-less Sony SLT-A35 camera as it will be for the rest of the year. It was off to Duxford to get some practice on any passing trade although the Bank holiday weather with wall to wall cloud didn‘t exactly produce ideal lighting conditions. Because of the conditions, I started shooting in RAW but the buffer appeared to fill up rather quickly so went back to Jpegs. A plus point with the Electronic View Finder on the A-35 is that what you see is what you photograph and with the histogram showing in the EVF I can make any adjustments and instantly see the results without lowering the camera to look at the screen on the back. Helpful in the dark wintry conditions.
