Evening all,
Spent an awesome day at Old Warden for their final display of the year. It was billed as the Autumn airshow, but the weather was more akin to June, an absolute roaster and with barely a cloud in the sky, the sun shone all day, creating some truly incredible light as the afternoon wore on. Perfect conditions for photography, and my first chance to really see what my new 7D is capable of- very pleased with the results, hope you guys like them too!

I can’t see why you needed a camera upgrade, your previous stuff was superb
Very kind of you to say so. It’s that an upgrade in the sense of a replacement, but I had wanted a second body for a while to eliminate the need for changing lenses when walking around the statics. I bought the 7D with a 24-70 lens to supplement the 40D, using the short lens on the old body and using the longer lens on the new body. The two work well together, first time I’d had both at my disposal at OW and was very happy with the results from both.
Yes, they are great. What (long) lens do you use?
Canon 100-400L

I just wish I had been in a position to get a topside shot of the Spartan. All I got was the underside, which didn’t do justice to the shiny finish
