Rather a mixed day. A strong wind kept many a/c grounded and the Lancaster failed to make an appearance due to engine trouble.
However the rain kept away and the display was good.
Stu Goldspink got the day started with with a rowsing display with the Spitfire IX
The Sea Fury was similar

The trainers were buffeted by the wind but managed a show
The Magister
Tutor, Tomtit and Polikarpov – three contemporary trainers
The Polikarpov only made a couple of gentle passes before landing
The Hind and Demon flew in formation to start before separating
The Hind
The Demon flown by Stuart Goldspink.
Imagine – you fly to Old Warden in a Spitfire, display, land , climb into a Demon, give a display and then you get back into a Spitfire and fly off home.
It’s tough work but somebody has to do it!
The Storch used the strong cross-wind to advantage. At one time it flew sideways down the display line.
Keith Dennison opted for the open air during part of his Hurricane display.
Alistair Kay wound up the proceedings in the Mustang ‘Ferocious Frankie’

Thanks for the kind comments.
A few more views that others haven’t put up so far
Who are you looking at?

Demon and Hind
Pictures of biplanes where you can’t see the pilots always seem to lack that certain something. Anybody else feel the same?
This was the only picture I got where they were banked at the same angle as they were really being buffeted by the wind.

Gladiator

Storch

Lovely shots John, thanks for sharing. The second Sea Fury shot is a real peach!
