AirPower 2011 was held on 1st and 2nd July 2011.
I visited event on Friday, weather was not ideal for the shooting.
Friday program was also marked by two events:
1. Saudi Hawks aerobatic group had to abort their display due to birdstrike
2. One paratroopers hits the canopy of another and got stuck in its cord – the result was accelerated and uncontrolled fall. After some 30mins they were transported by helicopters into nearby hospitals. I pray injuries are not too serious.
Otherwise, as always, admission to the event is free and it was visited by around 290.000 visitors, the benefits for the region is approx. 15mil. Euro.
Here are some photos from the event, some in larger format can also be found on the web PlanePhotos.net.
I invite you to visit web PlanePhotos.net., and if you have some nice photos, you can also contribute.

Even some of your bad weather would be classed as good here,as most of our air-show days you can be guaranteed a dull or rainy outlook:rolleyes::).and most people who post on here would give there back teeth to have got some of those images if they were honest. Thanks again and I think I,ll be raiding my piggy bank and putting my granny up for sale:cool: to catch just one of your shows…

Zeltweg Air Base is really a nice location, it is situated between the hills. Its runway is oriented east to west (08/26), space for visitors is located southwards the runway – it is ideal for shooting.
…but we had a lot of clouds in the afternoon, so conditions were not ideal and many air shots are of poor quality.
