Despite the hot, sunny weather that the west of France has enjoyed of late, the méteo were not quite pessimistic enough on 24 July. Still I made the trip to the annual FFA meeting aerien. The weather got progressively worse as the day wore on. The occasional showers became persisent drizzle. The breaks in the cloud closed up, the weather closed in and the ceiling fell dramatically. All until the end of the display when the clouds peeled back and the sun shone. Ah well, the application of sod’s law! Thus much of the display – including the Patrouille de France – did not take place. But a few brave pilots took to a low, leaden sky to relieve the increasing boredom of the crowd. But the weather was not conducive to photography, which exacerbates my inadequacies as a photographer. But if you’ll make allowances for this, the following may occupy a few idle moments!
I hope that you enjoy something a little different from the other side of the Channel.

Seemed like a b&w kind of day. Always nice to see an Air France C-47.
Thanks.
