Yes, I was on the Tank Bank, quite close to one of the food stalls. Or was it coffee they sold? Anyway, that’s where I was.

nice Shots there. looks like you were stood near the tank bank. You dont need a big lens as you can get great shots with any sort of camera you just need to be in a good position.

Hi
Nothing wrong with these pics: the Hawk is my personal favorite.

Lovely shots.

Although I relish the sharp close shots we see from other members, these are refreshingly more like some of my photos and in a way nearer to what you see “in the flesh”. I really like them – thanks.:)

nice shots !! quite agree with the layout idea it is where a lot of togs are totaly missing the point of shooting aircraft
just because you have a 300/400 mm lens doesn’t meen you have to fill the frame every time sometimes backing off has the less is more effect
currently i’m playing with the idea of upgrading to a nikon d7000 or a 400 lens
the lens isn’t to draw them in closer but to get artier shots from further away giving more atmosphere to shots

Great shots – I love the composition. In context or as an object, as long as the aircraft is the star, it’s eye candy to me.
Cheers.

Yes agreed. One of the features I like in these photos is that I get an impression that the aeroplanes are in an environment whether it be on the ground or in the air. This is in contrast to the current fashion where the aircraft are shown as often as possible as a subject which is devoid of context. I suppose I’m just a little old fashioned.
