Some 19 or so Chippies battled through most unpleasant conditions to deepest Hertfordshire today – well done everybody involved. A few snaps from the compact camera of yours truly, no doubt the professionals will post later.

Those photos and the air to air video clip bear out what I always maintain-the Chipmunk looks good in any colour scheme and from any angle. As a lover of all things de Havilland I guess I’m biased but there you go.

The seven ship was a good effort.
Nice little air-to-air clip here

Yeah, and you try telling people that there WERE fat kids twenty years ago, it’s like they’ve forgotten..
I was never fat as a kid, just too heavy for my height!

Nearly 20 years on it looks as good as I remember waddling along the apron before climbing aboard! 😀

…Nope she didn’t make it on the day.

Digging out my 20 year old 3822 (yes, I’ve still got it!) it turns out I flew twice in WK630. The first time was my second flight on 20/10/91 and the second time was my 9th Chipmunk flight on 24/9/95 both flights from Hurn with 2AEF.

Not being a number cruncher, WP, I must confess I don’t know. She doesn’t appear in the digital pics on my PC – I have more shots in my film camera but have yet to finish the reel (reminder to myself, always recharge your batteries the day before).

Was WP840/9 G-BXDM there in her old red and white RAF scheme?

a few more quick pictures from a good occasion – (and a special mention should go to the club’s catering staff, who were very busy all day long).

It was indeed enjoyable if not a little brisk!
Some really nice examples there on the day too.
I may get around to posting my photos in a bit but I’m not one of the “professionals”

Enjoyed the day, shame so many didn’t make it but was still a good turn out 😀
