It’s a shame we never got my B-17 and the B-24 together with the recently completed B-26, which is now in a crate heading to the USA.

Glad I was able to scan that slide as it must have brought back memories of that weekend for you.If I ever get round to the other lot in the garage I’ll see if there are any more, meanwhile it was interesting to hear about your aircraft and hobby that must be as nice to do as people like me who watch them.Cheers JB.:))

The B-24 was still two years away from a test flight. While it looks almost complete, it was still lacking internal systems. The Thunderbolt in the foreground was my first P-47, seen in it’s third colour scheme ( previously 78th and 353rd FG’s ). It was sold and replaced with a P-47N. The razorback P-47 behind was owned by the B-24 builder. John redesigned my plan to a razorback version.

Also just visible in the background is my US Tiger Moth. The aircraft in the foreground is not scale, but a trainer built for my dad roughly along the lines of a Norseman. All the models were built to 1/6 scale.

That’s a picture of almost all of my model team’s planes! Taken in 1997 by the colour schemes, before the B-24 was finished.

Hi Stephen….Good to see your on the site again and seeing those photos from leeming ,reminded me of my time up there.Harvard looks great and the J.P is nice as well.

I did manage to find 1 nice slide from your time at Elvington with the large scale people and will copy it tomorrow.I hope some of the P47s or at least 1 on there will depict yours. Thanks for sharing your photos.John.B
