Hawker Hunter GA11 cockpit WV381

Throughout this past summer members of the organising committee for the Annual Abingdon Air & Country Charity Show have been visiting events with the Publicity/Sales Stall,to keep the show fresh in people’s minds and to raise funds for 2011.For many of these we were thankfull for the support of Cholsey-based enthusiast Dave Webb,who brought along his immaculately restored Hunter GA11 cockpit,WV381
The Hunters last flight was in 1972 when she suffered a mis-hap at RNAS Lee-on-Solent afterwhich she was used by UKAEA at Culham(ironically enough a former RNAS airfield).After over 30 years of lightning related experiments the UKAEA decided she was no longer needed and Dave came to her rescue,restoring her to her current status.
As well as supporting AACS WV381 went to Al Ain early this year and was also in the static display at RIAT in July(as well as AACS in May,of course)
