The annual Shuttleworth Pageant took place on 6th September, the day started sunny but sadly just as the flying started a band of high level white cloud arrived to spoil the light for photography. Strong winds also made the flying challenging.
To start with, show me the money! This is where the Shuttleworth family fortune came from, Clayton and Shuttleworth Agricultural Machinery. Without this

Richard wouldn’t have been able to buy this
Or this
(for those who don’t know, the blue car is Richard’s Railton sports car and the aircraft is G-EBKY the Sopwith Pup (then a Dove) purchased by Richard Shuttleworth in 1936).
Before the general public are let in, the aircraft are put out to pasture!
By the time you get in the engineers and pilots have been pushing and pulling aircraft for a couple of hours.
Caption competition!
The collection’s plan to launch a man into space was tested on the flighline in the guise of starting the Biff. (It started first time by the way)
On with the flying
George Ellis in the 504

Dull Side On…sorry!
Ribbon pick up
Multiple Moths, always a good thing!

Three (count ‘em!) passes by the Lanc

Demon! Sadly the collections Hind is still poorly. I cant wait to see the two of them in the air together.

As usual a superb set!
Surely the caption has to be “Biggles Flies Undone”! (Sorry, a bit predictable!)
