Dirty Pete 40 @ Old Warden

Having been a bit out of touch with the current events in the warbird scene, I was mightily surprised and pleased to see Peter’s Warhawk in its new “worn” 15th AF colour scheme. I guessed it had to be for a movie and I am glad to find out it is (when is it out?). Just awesome!

Those patient enough to await Peter’s departure were treated by possibly the best fly past of the entire show. What a sight and what a beautiful light. Of course I was so thrilled by that surprise pass, I couldn’t hold my camera properly still and messed up all the shots from that pass! Perfectly framed, perfectly exposed, but hopelessly blurry! O well… I’ll hold on to that mental picture for awhile! 😀 I hope my nearly-2-year-old son will too. When I asked him about the airplanes today after coming back home, he “flew” his little hand through the air, so I think he definitely liked it! 🙂

While I got your attention for a few seconds (I hope), may I just announce that I have just opened my brand new webshop at http://www.digitalaviationart.com? It has high quality prints and t-shirts etc. of both my aviation art and airshow photography. Cheeky I know, but I had to dig into rather empty pockets to get to the airshow today. Recession and all… 😮

Thanks for your time! 🙂

Very good pictures. The Warhawk landing picture is very nice. The others are not far behind.

Thanks for posting.

A couple of tree top level Hurricane shots from the same show:

Thanks very much for the replies, guys!

I agree Mike, it sure was something different, although I have to admit I immediately spotted that the “dirt” was airbrushed. I reckon for the film the weathering has to be exaggerated a bit to survive the post-editing that raw footage undergoes before it’s ready to go into a movie.

I really wish more owners would allow their machines to appear like that rather than show room fresh

Wow, now that’s some seriously sharp and stunning images, well done indeed!

Thanks for the narrative too, it’s always interesting to hear other peoples take on things, and especially pleased to hear your son enjoyed himself as well! (Camera for Xmas?) 😀

Cheers,

Kev.
