Today it is Queensday in the Netherlands. This year the Queen was guest at the festivities in Apeldoorn. The day was opened with a flypast of historic aircraft over the town. Lead aircraft was BBMF’s Dakota, which together with Dutch DC3 PH-PBA and a Beech Staggerwing started at Teuge airfield. The other aicraft came from different aerodromes. They all landed at Teuge after the fly-by’s except for the BBMF Dakota. This aircraft flew immediately back to Coningsby. I captured the aircraft at Teuge. It’s very sad that this beautiful day ended with a tragedy in Apeldoorn.
