Despite the thick fog I spent 2 hours traveling through on my motor bike, the weather cleared late morning to blue sky and sunshine. Spitfire XVIe, flown by Cliff Spink, arrived at about 12.45 followed by the first of the taxi runs by the Lancaster. The airfield was then attacked by John Romain in the HA-1112 ‘Buchon’ with 2 strafing runs and a rather loud bang. During this the MkXVIe started up and scrambled to meet the ‘enemy’. An excellent tail chase/dogfight ensued followed by the Spitfire doing aerobatics over the airfield. Both aircraft touched down and were on the ground for about an hour before departing for their next display. The show finished with the Lancaster doing another taxi run.
A very enjoyable and different day out and many thanks to Martin and the Panton family for the access we had and to the team at East Kirkby for the show and to every one else for their company.

Nice shots. I love the meschersmit with the swirly bits off the prop. Never seen that before.
