Following the Fuji episode, I have now purchased a Nikon D40. Results below –
A bit dis-heartening when I got there to see all those photographers with lenses as long as their legs, but for a lot of the time my 200mm lens was filled. I have always been told not to judge a photographer by the size of their lens!

Excellent pics, it’s not the camera that makes a good picture, it’s the person who presses the shutter release.
Considering the conditions you have got some shots to be pleased about.
