To say it rained is probably putting it mildly as it was more like mizzle. I was positioned between the end of the runway and the ‘piano’ keys for the flying as I knew my Tamron would have problems struggling for light so I went for landing/take off shots instead. Not impressed with the static. There were big gaps, having removed some of the civilian stuff the night before they weren’t replaced with the military aircraft as you could see them on the other side of the airfield. I’m afraid the Vulcan didn’t do anything for me, having lived at Scampton and my first job was to wash Vulcans, I would much rather see a Victor flying. Of the 2 aircraft I did want to see fly, the DC-6 went tech and the Vimy didn’t fly, presumably due to the weather. Grey aeroplanes on a Grey day and NO, I have no idea what the last photo is about.

Ask – and ye shall receive……
It doesn’t sell any jet engines – but it sure attracted a crowd….:D
Ken
Well, they sell my engines!!
Did anybody get a picture of the chics in the adapted Robot arm at the stand of a Machine tool/ assembly company? Thysenkrupp I think it was.
As for Farnborough, to a spotter or an enthusiast IMO F/boro is the worst show to attend. Small flying displays and in general only the new stuff. It’s a sales pitch, so I guess if you want to see new stuff then it may be there and you may enjoy it…….but if you want to see an air “Show” then it has to be RIAT.

Brian
I was walking down the static line on Monday, when this buggy passed by – with the same three lovelies aboard, so I quickly switched on the camera, focused and took this photo – by which time they were getting away…..

PS. Can anyone work out why the Americans waste their time with the B-1 ‘display’? All the way across the Atlantic do fly two circuits the size of Hampshire and two passes at 500 feet down the runway centreline????
At least they went through at a reasonable airspeed 😀
I actually fell asleep during the F18 ‘display’ today zzzzz
cheers baz
