Lovely shots.

The Tonka is one of the most beautiful A/c IMO. I was at Farnborough in ’74 when it was first shown to the public. It was called MRCA then.

Yes the Tonka is a lovely aircraft and the GR versions are amongst the best.
However, back in the 70s it was nicknamed Must Refurbish Canberra Again (MRCA)

TEEJ, thanks as always for sharing such wonderful pictures. Interesting to see ZE764 there. Who remembers seeing it nearly 20 years ago as the black tailed 11 Squadron DH????!!!, Saw it often from my parents house in Leeming and also at Mildenhall and other shows of those days.

Thanks for the comments.

UNC,
Nikon D2X fitted with Nikon Nikkor 300mm f/2.8. Some of those were taken with a 1.4x teleconverter. Yes the cost is worth it. A prime lens will have the edge over a zoom. Some zooms are soft at the top end.

Cheers

TJ

I will go along with that. A Prime lens is much better than a zoom. Images tend to be sharper, focusing better and images smoother. This is most visible at high resolution. I would not ditch the zoom though so keep it as an extra for flexibility.

That was my attempt, mine arn’t anywhere near as good as yours though 😀

I just snapped of a few pics from my back garden as they were heading into Waddington (we live under the flight path, ish).

Sorry to intrude on your thread by the way, hope you don’t mind?

Thanks for the comments.

James,

The following thread has the details from LBS. I don’t know about any other role demo. Apparantly the Fleet Air Arm will be joining the role demo later in the season.

Nice pictures there is the Westland Apache AH.Mk.1 new to the Role Demo? Was there planes for another Role Demo with Harriers and Typhoons?

Those are brilliant pictures you got there, just out of interest what body and lens sre you using to get those kind of results. Im looking at getting a Canon fixed 300 f2.8 instead of using my 80-400 but as its a lot of cash would the results warrant getting one?.
