I took a journey up to my new local airfield yesterday, in the hour I was there I caught these on camera!

Is there much to see at Knettishall and Methwold still, I think you (or someone else) mentioned a haunted gym at Methwold. Is it accessible to photograph or is it on private land?
Richard
At Knettishall even the tree by the main gate with initials and hearts carved into it has gone. I think there’s an MT shed to the south, but really it is almost obliterated – hence my ‘memorial flight’ tag – I like to think we are keeping the memory alive just from the sound of (puny) aero engines.
Methwold? Gym/Cinema, Squash courts, Battle headquarters. T2s, Waafs’ quarters. All accessible if you know where to look.
PM me next time you are headed this way and I’ll be your guide.

Hi Moggy
Mistake corrected – thanks for that!! I thought borders may have changed or something and some of my references say Norfolk, some say Suffolk!!
I have updated the text on it as well, as I am slowly going through the site to udate links and other bits.
Regarding G-LAZA, I saw it at Knettishall about a year or so ago and thought it was based there. Yesterday I started at Tibenham and saw G-LAZA there, then drove across to Old Buckenham via Carleton Rode to see the memorial there. When I arrived at Old Buckenham it had just landed there! The pilot made an impressive take off leaving Old Buck!

The Laser / Lazer is a Knettishall resident 🙂
Nice pics.

Pssst! Just looked at your airfields site. Truly impressive. So much so I hesitate to carp… but …. Methwold is most definitely in Norfolk, not Suffolk.
