It was with mixed emotions that I made the journey down to Shoreham on Sunday morning, should or shouldn’t I go. I arrived on the airfield just as Carolyn Grace was getting airborne in ML407, the superb display was flown in remembrance of the tragic Brian Brown, Carolyn’s superb professionalism in undertaking such an emotional display cannot be commended highly enough. As 407 taxied in a minutes silence was held for the much respected pilot. RIP Brian.
Lastly I would like to thank all the pilots, ground crews and the Shoreham airshow team, for deciding to carry on with the display despite the tragic events of the Saturday.

Thanks everyone,
Daz, the 109 E1/ 7 werke nr. 3523 is owned by Jim Pearce, although I believe it is currently for sale.
It was a great surprise to see the 109 at Shoreham, so many thanks to Jim and his team for arranging its display.

I always get back from these airshows, upload my photographs, think some of them are pretty good, actually – then I visit this forum and see such stunning images as these and realise I am but a hobbit in the company of giants.
Fantastic pics of a great display, albeit one that is tinged with sadness for me.

Great stuff, Gary.
What’s the story with the ‘109E? Is this the one recovered from a lake a wee while ago?
