A very good show.
Despite the weather not quite playing ball with the forecast for sunny conditions by late morning, for the first two hours it was mostly quite bright despite the cloud. The mitigating factor is that if the sun was out during this time with the sun in front of the crowdline, the light would not have been that good anyway. The only real problem was the haze that came with the lowish cloud
There was quite a lot of haze for the Sea Fury, Skyraider, Mustang and Buchon displays, however conditions improved and later in the day when the sun finally managed to break through after a few false starts.
The Red Arrows display was halted mid stream then ended completely because of two incursions in it’s restricted display airspace. One incursion due to a hang glider and the other due to microlight in the area.
The Canberra unfortunately was u/s and so was Peter Vacher’s Hurricane which had been the replacement for the Canberra.
Not so gooD so far but the flying without exception was great.
At Cosford there are aircraft parked in front of the crowdline durinG te display and usually you are lucky if you do not have any parked in front of you. This year however there was a huge gap between where the Blades and the Helicopters affording good views of the take off runs.
The Role demo seemed to be a bit more joined up and was warmly received by the crowd with a good clap. Most of crowd though probably would not have realized tha there was only one GR4 where in previous demos there were two of them.
My only quibble is that between the display of the Typhoon and the Role Demo, the dispays were quite light. Could have done with one more fast jet, old or new with or without the Canberra.
Here are some of my snaps. More can be seen on my small pixel web site on th linke bellow the photos

I agree Rob, the Typhoon does look bland in the all grey scheme. I think it would be nice to see one painted in a special more decorative scheme.
My favourite cold war aircraft is the Hunter and I would have settled for that as an addition to the flying display, though any one of them would have done.
I understand the ban on aerobatics on the Strikemaster amd JP may not be permanent but that would depend on the safety issues involved.

All versions of Strikemaster and JetProvost are currently banned from performing any aerobatic manouvres due to a recent accident where a Strikemaster shed a wing with fatal consequences. I expect it was felt that it wasn’t worthwhile for the Strikey to simply do a few straight and level passes.
Yeah I know about the ban.
It would have had no choice to do anything other than straight and level anyway during the first half of the display.:D

It is a good shot of the Typhoon – but I have to say I think the RAFs choice of grey makes it an utterly boring thing to look at. It would be nice to see it in some sort of camoflage. But I doubt they’ll change it simply to please the airshow crowds.

Some lovely shots of some lovely aircraft, thanks.
“Also would’ve been good to see one of those Strikemasters in the static display actually flying.

Nice pics
I enjoyed the display but my only gripe(albeit a very minor one) is I also think more jets would’ve helped. I would like to have seen flying examples of some of the exhibits in the new cold war museum, Hunter, Sabre, Meteor, that sort of thing. Shame about the Canberra. Also would’ve been good to see one of those Strikemasters in the static display actually flying.

Lovely!!
I have to say, 2007 seems to be producing a bumper crop.
There seems to be a quantum leap in picture quality all round this year.
Great work – everyone.
