Shame N54922 is being fitted with a cowling, always the best one IMHO, but a 8ugger to roll with only 2 ailerons……:D

Im with you, 54922 always my fav without the cowl, but as you say a ****** with only two ailerons. Big T did say there were plans to fit four so she would be the same as all the rest, when he has a couple of minutes to spare;)

I think the idea is to have them all looking and performing the same. Here is the fifth aircraft, SE-BOG, which has just been purchased from Sweden.
It will retain this registration, but wear full team colours.

try closure to Northamptonshire, Corby. you will be a bit closer for your debut show.

Probably more to do with the problem that a 450hp Stearman on the British register is not cleared for aerobatics…. Hence why most 450s are on the American register.

My guess is because ASB have had various approved mods done, they’ve stuck with the N reg. The mods would already be approved in the US and there would be no need to have them further approved within Europe. However if those mods were US-approved before 2003(?) they already get EASA approval and so theoretically the Stearmans could be on a G- But there also the odd few maintenance issues too where the N system is less restrictive than a G- …

The “Utterly Butterly” flyers metamorphised themselves over the winter months and were officially revealed at a Press Day at Rendcomb as Team Guinot in a lovely cherry pink and white scheme, when two new wingwalking girls were selected from 11 finalists out of around 300 candidates. It was bitterly cold, but facilities were excellent, so I couldn’t resist!:diablo: Three Stearmans were finished and N54922 was being re-engined and fitted with a cowling. Also a fifth Stearman has been purchased from Sweden, registered SE-BOG (no toilet humour, please!) and this is also being prepared.

Beautiful photo’s, The Stearman looks superb in the cherry pink of Guinot, Its also nice to hear that a 5th Aircraft is joining the team.

Im very sad to see the Utterely Butt scheme dissapear as that was a stunning colour scheme………….. but I can see this new one been a grower.
