The wind was as bad at the start of the flying display as it was at the end on Saturday. It is alledged that a gale warning had been issued.
Although the wind was in the same direction as the runway the wind would still have been too strong for the Spits to fly. Thankfully throughout the afternoon the gusty conditions did lower their temper a notch or two.
After hearing the the Old Warden display had been cancelled I became rather worried at about 3.30pm when some Spits were bing towed back toward ARCOs hanger. Fortunately it was only for positioning purposes.
Both Duxford and Old Warden have been unlucky with the weather recently. Duxford just about got away with it on Sunday.
At about 6.00pm three more Spits and a Mustang arrived back from Goodwood
Again my congratulations to the organisers and the Pilots for a first rate air display.
