I left home this morning in the rain but when I got to Eastborne at about 12.30 it looked like it had not rained there for at least some hours. It was cloudy but the cloud looked it had been sapped of energy and had small blue holes in it.
In the space of an hour bigger blue skys approaced from accros the water and the rest of the afternoon was one of almost complete sunshine.
The display had large gaps in it but I am unable to tell whether it was due to the normal less participation on Thursday compared to Friday to Saturday or to cancellations due to bad weather elswhere. I had no programme and I was a quater of a mile away from the end of the display line. I relied on aircraft entering or leaving the display in my direction for my mages.
Ther display included a Mirage, two F16s, Hawk, Mustang, two Spits, Fuja Magister, a couple of aerobatic aircraft, a Havard, Sea Fury, Herc, Typhoon and a civi parachute team There also appeared to be a flypast by many old light GA aircraft.
One of the two Utterley Butterley aircraft pulled out during their display. I do not know why but there did appear to be a few secs when it’s engine sounded a bit strange (sounded a bit like a Tornado afterbutner blow out)
All the flying display action took place well away from me so I only have a few images to post.
