This year’s Airshow is full of exciting activities and stunning performances that can be experienced over the weekend;
Whether you’re a wide-eyed first timer or a seasoned airshow veteran, The Air Tattoo offers something for everyone!
During the thrilling 7.5 hour flying display, visitors will get to see fast jets, giant transporters, historic aircraft and much more.
There will be a chance to meet the crews, get close to the aircraft and enjoy a feast of first class entertainment!

The Royal International Air Tattoo Airshow’s theme for 2016 is: “The Next Generation: Inspiring Innovation“.
Relating to this, the F-35 Lightening 2, the world’s latest fighter jet, is making an appearance across the weekend
along with the incredible Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team and the Red Arrows.

Alongside the amazing aviation in the skies, there will also be a whole host of entertainment on the ground.
This includes:

  • The Techno Zone – featuring cutting edge exhibits and a range of hands-on activities.
  • RAF Village – have the opportunity to learn about current operations and specialist equipment.
  • Vintage Village – step back in time and experience the 1940s through aircraft, cars and fashion.
  • Autodrome – rare and beautifully maintained cars including vehicles from the Ferrari Owners Club, Porche Club of Great Britain and Atwell Wilson Motor Museum.
  • Adrenaline Zone (Sat & Sun) – take part in high energy activities e.g. mini Land Rovers, segways, trapezes, balance bikes etc.

Official celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the Air Cadet Organisation are currently being planned to celebrate the youth that support the Royal Air Force and their Charitable Trust.
In addition to this, the Airshow is also giving the younger visitors the opportunity to participate in the hugely popular Schools Engineering Challenge.
