AN124 @ Diamond Hanger Stansted December 2013

Couple of the Antonov Design Bureau An124 with a load inside the Diamond Hanger at Stansted.

By turning it 45 degrees it allows 2 airliners to fit in independently. Whilst reducing the floor space requiring heating per jet as it narrows towards the nose.

Spot on! And don’t forget the ground rent.

When Stansted was upgraded the rent on those bits of land was parcelled up in units based on the wingspan of one of the common airliners at that time. The diamond shape has made for a continuing saving.
