Exhibit a: Newcastle International Airport – £50 million in debt with no real expansion plans.
Exhibit b: Durham Tees Valley Airport – No aircraft! (it does have a few regional jobs and a dismantling facility)
Why would anyone want another airport in a region which can’t sustain two?
