BBI delay

Does anyone know the real reason why Berlin BBI is delayed yet another 9 months? The official reason is fire protection system in the terminals but that might be just a pretense. That project has a history of delays.

BER Delay Reasons

There is a great english article on Spiegal Online explaining the real reasons for BBI’s delay – fire saftey was just the tip of the iceburg.

Looked around on the net but only reason given was the “fire protection system” which is not yet complete/certified or something like this….
