Come fly with me: The story of Pan Am

A treat for our UK members:
Clicky to watch

I just aired on Beeb 2. Loved it. Genuinely had a tear in my eye as it got to the end.

Gonna draw up a Pan am 747 now… got the urge.

I quite enjoyed the first two episodes. A nice bit of escapism with a G+T or two:) Some good footage in the following documentary.

The drama series is now on UK TV.
Only worth watching if you like to see old clips of the beautiful aircraft. And, pretty girls.
The storyline is aimed at the RomCom market.

And, I’m sure they got the logo wrong on the bags. Pan Am in the 60’s, IIRC the letters didn’t touch on the word Pan Am.

And yes, in the heyday there was Pan Am and BOAC leading the world with others following. It was and still is a great shame not to have them around.

Which is an important point.
When I was a child, Pan Am was the Bees’ Knees and no-one could ever have imagined life without it.

I think they tried to accentuate just how quick things went from good to bad.

Nice show, but it seemed a bit rushed at the end. A lot of time spend on the glory days, and why not. But then 10 minutes before the end it seems as though the film maker suddenly realised they also had to include a rather complicated bankruptcy!

They should have made it a two parter. Part one for the good times, and part two for the decline and eventual bankruptcy. With perhaps some time reserved to the ill-fated restarts.
