Don’t tell anyone, we are investigating. 😉

Are they sure about acid etching and not simply written in the exhaust smoke staining as common practice by ground handlers…?

If it’s not visable most of the time…what the point?

Probably like a lot of things, because it can be done and even if it isn’t visible 99% of the time, who ever did it knows it’s there.

KNX 1070 reporter Charles Feldman’s exclusive report reveals that the etchings seem “to have been done with a chemical process that reveals the text once an auxiliary power unit is turned on and heats up the outside skin of the aircraft.”

Huh?
Aside from opportunity to do something like that…I’m guessing it would take some time and might have to be done during manufacture or heavy maintenance…I’m not sure of the motive. If it’s not visable most of the time…what the point?
