I saw a Hercules coming in to land on 27L at LHR one evening a few days back, and I was wondering if anyone knows who the operator is and what it’s doing there. I couldn’t see any sign of military markings, but these are so subtle these days you don’t always notice them anyway. Was it a civil L-100 or a C-130??
I used to see civil L-100’s regularly, so it was nice to see this one as a bit of a blast from the past.

A little bird tells me it was EI-JIV, an L100-30, flying in from EastMidlands on behalf of DHL.

I’ve seen a mainly white C130 parked at EGPE for the last few weeks – last time I saw one similar was at Incirlik AFB, when I knew the pilot as ‘CIA Bob’…

There was a Kuwati airforce C-130 at Gatwick last week, as previously stated very subtle colour scheme you wouldn’t have guessed it was military.
