Flames shoot from the engine of a holiday jet packed with 180 Brits – causing terror on board.
Several passengers suffered panic attacks after an explosion in the engine shortly after the plane took off from Ibiza airport.
The captain of the Manchester-bound Jet2 flight announced they would make an emergency landing, but the jet spent 77 hair-raising minutes in the air before touching down safely at Palma on Majorca.
The airline said there had been “a technical problem” on Thursday morning’s Flight LS170.
The passengers took a later flight home.

One website in Spain had the headline “Ibiza plane bursts into flames above holiday island”. Dear me.
