today AA is to order up to 200 aircraft, and the first news coming in is that the order will be split between Airbus and Boeing.
Just before Boeing had offered to re-engine the 737 in order to counter the 320NEO.
more as details come on.

A.net are discussing a Wall Street Journal article that states AA are leaning toward the A320NEO. I guess it all depends on who your information comes from.

A Seattle TV station is saying Boeing will go with a re-engined 737 and will get a majority of the AA order.

BTW: I’ve never seen local media cover aviation like they do in Seattle.

Interesting they are considering a split order between a A320 NEO and a new 737 version.
I´d have thought A320/321 NEO for the heavier end, and CS300 at the lower end would have been the most optimal split fleet.
I´m sure they´re getting a GREAAAT deal from Boeing, though.

I saw your post and that is a good question. But as of now we don’t know how AA will distribute the order.

Sounds good but if today’s FT figures on backlog orders (see my post today) for both Boeing and Airbus are even close, when will AA get what they order ?
