The Strat was wonderful and one of my favourites. The 104 was delayed, Aeroflot service in the late 1960s dire and the flight to Moscow seemed to take forever. So it was great to have been on it, but I have no regrets that it was only once.

Never kept any records but started with a Dragon Rapide at pre-Heathrow London Airport and ended with a Classic Flight Rapide last year, and that was by way of Air France Dakota, BEA Viking, DC4, Dan Air Ambassador, Aeroflot Tu 104 and Il 18, Comet 4, Vanguard, BOAC Stratocruiser, TWA Constellation, PanAm 707, countless Heralds and F28s, Dc9s, 727s, 737s ending with a few MD-10s and twin turboprops.

Ahhhhh would love to have flown on a TU-104 or Stratocruiser!

Has anyone flown a Grumman Goose? I flew in one with Sea Bee Air from Mechanics Bay, Auckland to Pakatoa Island in 1981.
I think the reg. was ZK-CFA.

When did you last fly runway06.

My last flight was a couple of weeks back on a Lufthansa A320 from Munich to LHR. However I thought I would just list the interesting ones as opposed to the run of the mill flights.

3rd June 1990, my first airliner a Lockheed L-1011 of Air Transat (sadly no serial or piccy). Stansted to Toronto, drive to Vancouver and back, and return to Stansted two weeks later. Very smooth and reasonably quiet except when i went to the toilet at the rear of the aircraft.. boy that was noisy.
Being a nervous but excited Brit for me it was very reassuring looking out of the window and seeing ROLLS ROYCE on the side of the engines :).

Edit; Just remembered that due to the strength of the headwind we had to land for fuel at Goose Bay, Labrador. Good to see the resident but sadly stranded Avro Vulcan there as i stood in the doorway for a breather.
