Spanair´s 717

Hello,

several sources say that Spanair stored their last 717. Can somebody confirm this information? The last 717 (and the other three aircraft) will be part of Blue1 soon.

Thank you for an answer.

Bye

Why should they?:)

The 717 is an orphan and reality shows that the 717 will be a rare sight in Europa – even with a growing 717-fleet at Blue1. The 717 is nevertheless considerably smaller than the 737-300 and lacks the range that most carriers need.

Just read a few hours ago that the last 717 of Spanair is indeed no longer operational. One engine is no longer attached and the source says that the aicraft will be flown to Helsinki as soon as a replacement-engine is ready. So after installation the 717 will probably not fly for Spanair any longer.

Regards!

Jet2 should bring in 717’s as replacements for the 733 fleet.
