1/24 Mustang interior colours

I have a Airfix 1/24 Mustang that i would like to make up as a civilian operated P-51 circa 1960/1970’s .
I have noticed that many restored airframes usually come in either a yellow or green chromate finish on the inside.
A few of questions
1/ Are these colours representative of all mustangs wether restored or merley as is from the factory.
2/ What Tamiya colours [personal choice but not limited too] best represent these two options [i think XF4 for the yellow].
3/ Where on the airframe are you most likely to see each colour?

I have looked at various books ,online images of newley restored,post war and original service Mustangs and cannot determine a timeline for the use of each colour .
