MUMBAI: As part of plans to expand its global network, Air India is mulling launching daily flights to San Francisco and Melbourne from New Delhi this year.
While flights to the Australian city is expected to commence operations from the winter schedule starting October, a final decision on the San Francisco flight is yet to be arrived at, airline officials told here today.

Flights have been announced for MEL starting 1st December 2010 using B77W.
DEL – MEL 1405 hrs dep 0730+1 arr.
MEL – DEL 2145 hrs dep 0420+1 arr.

Great news Kabir, but can you confirm if the DEL-SFO route will be direct or will it stop en-route…I read a report the other day suggesting that AI were considering in looking at more “direct” options for flights rather than forcing people to have to transit via a European hub?
