Painting straight lines?

I received a Hunter from Santa for Christmas (well, the wife actually) and am going to paint it as XE601/G-ETPS. But can anybody offer any tips on how I can paint the red stripe that runs from the nose straight?

You could always buy a sheet of red decal and cut the strips……

If you don’t have a steady hand, yes, masking tape like Tamiya’s would be a good idea. Also, when you paint, first, you’ll need to apply a light coat, partly over the tape. it must not be too thick, or too “watery”, or it will “suck” under the tape, ruining the paintjob. When that one is dry, you can properly paint the area. Thinking of it, a light coat mmight be possible with a spray can (not the spray can you’ll find at the supermarket, bought mostly by lowlifes to maculate other people’s walls, of course)

Of course, it is easier with an airbrush 😉

best way I would think is to use Tamiya masking tape, its great stuff, very plyable and wont fetch your paint off when removing, it comes in rolls of yellow tape, can get it from most toy/model shops
