I’m surprised they are not going round buying back all the copies to pulp them. I had to do that once when I took over as editor of an ‘industry standard publication’ which had gone terribly wrong under the previous editor..

And in the May issue Will Gilligan reveals Martin Halstead never really existed at all?

All joking aside it’s amazing how Mr. Halstead has managed to dupe so many people, both organisations and individuals, into believing Varsity Express was a genuine, viable operation. I think one of the most telling things for me, posted in the Times article Skymonster linked to, is the fact that his partner, Mr. Lawrence, saw nothing wrong in the assumption of a false identity to give credence to their efforts.

I have no idea which, if any, laws have been contravened but I would imagine the whole episode is worthy of a thorough investigation.

Wonder whether that article will actually boost sales this month?

Nice issue for the most part – particularly enjoyed the item on the DC-8 in Spain and on Mexicana
