Belfast has built a test carbon fibre wing:

Bombardier in Saint-Laurent is testing Al-Li fuselage barrel:

Pratt and Whitney are testing PurePower core:
http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2009/12/21/336442/pratt-whitney-launches-gtf-core-testing.html
The design, of CS100 and CS300, is to be frozen late this year or early in 2011, first wing must be delivered in 3rd quarter of 2011, the plane must fly in 2012 and enter into service in late 2013.
There are speculations of a bigger Cseries stretch. Bombardier calls it speculation, but admits that their plans are not frozen.

Update
Nope: PrivatAir will be operating them for other carriers in business class configuration, just how they currently operate BBJs for Lufthansa and Gulf Air.
While the orderbook is steady at 138 planes plus 134 options (and 20+25 on LOI) the Testing proceeds and here’s an update:
http://www.bombardier.com/en/corporate/media-centre/press-releases/details?docID=0901260d802020e4
The “Aircraft 0” static airframe was activated in late 2011 and has begun the 4800 hours tests in early 2012:
http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/bombardier-begins-cseries-aircraft-0-activation-366590/
“Bombardier plans to conduct 4,800h of testing on CIASTA for the CSeries initial certification, running 20h per day, seven days per week. Four hours each day will be dedicated to maintenance and troubleshooting if necessary.”
In the meanwhile BBD has plans to test in the air the CSeries with 7 Flight Test Vehicles:
http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/flightblogger/2012/01/bombardier-looks-ahead-to-a-bu.html
And the first 3 FTV are being built:
“This is the nose section, this is for FTV n°1, we also have FTV n°2 and 3 loaded in the jigs”

We’ll see if the Canadians will prove themselves the only operator (in the current period) to stick with the schedule…

Privatair order!
Privatair bought 5 firm frames, 5 options of CS100. All are all business:
http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/privatair-signs-for-up-to-10-cs100s-367155/
Is Privatair one of the several airlines that shall operate Cseries LCY-NY?

See:

It is impossible to buy a Cseries for 2014 or 2015: all 120 slots, and the probably few slots for 2013 are sold out. The first 48 unsold Cseries are in 2016. There are over 100 Cseries sold for 2017 and beyond.
For comparison, the first A320NEO delivery is October 2015. There are over 1000 A320NEO orders. When are the first unsold A320NEO slots?
By: Amiga500 - 6th January 2012 at 18:10
I had heard of inevitable delays to the program some time ago – but these seem to have not materialised – or gone public – perhaps Bombardier managed to get the program back on schedule (I have my doubts though).
The current A320, A320NEO and 737 backlog is a good thing for Bombardier – while the 737MAX will capture many orders in 2012, if airlines want a fuel efficient plane sooner, they’ve little option but to go for the CSeries.
Unfortunately, if the global economy continues to stagnate, the airlines may not want any new aircraft any time soon.

Odyssey
Ads by Googlewww.abroadband.com
Shall start services out of LCY transatlantic and elsewhere with 10 Cseries in 2014 or 2015:
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/12/19/uk-airlines-odyssey-idUSLNE7BI03X20111219
How many “business” seats can fit in CS100?
A318 maximum no frills seating is 132, at 6 abreast meaning 22 rows. BA has 32 seats, 4 abreast, so 8 rows.
CS100 maximum no frills seating is 125, at 5 abreast meaning 25 rows.
E190 maximum no frills seating is 114, at 4 abreast meaning 28 and a half rows.
At all business, E190/Lineage 1000 should fit 10 rows of beds at 3 abreast, 30 total.
CS100 should fit 9 rows of beds. But Cseries cabin is 41 cm narrower than A320.
Can 36 4 abreast beds in Cseries fit for transatlantic, or does it have to be 27 at 3 abreast to qualify as business for you?
How much MTOW can CS100ER lift out of LCY? How much can Lineage 1000?
What is the range of CS100ER out of LCY with 36 beds, baggage and extra tanks as appropriate? And what is the range of Lineage 1000 out of LCY with 30 beds, baggage and extra tanks as appropriate?
Also remember what Odyssey means. 10 planeloads of rich businesspeople should get killed off piecemeal with a lone survivor held as sex slave for 7 years. So expect to hear of the fate of the passengers sometime in 2024 or 2025….

PW1524G tests
What precisely did PW accomplish?

10 Korean orders firmed!
Korean picked CS300, with the weaker PW1521 engines.

How many orders has the Cseries got so far? Heard that it has almost been put into the sidelines because of the A320 NEO launch.

Malmö order!
Another order, after 15 months, brings orderbook to 100:
http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2011/06/01/357411/braathens-leasing-orders-10-cseries-twinjets-for-swedens.html
Malmö Aviation bought 5x CS100 and 5x CS300, both for Bromma. Note that while CS100 should not be a problem, the 1668 m runway of Bromma means that CS300XT (1661 m takeoff run at MTOW, SL and ISA) would suffer MTOW hit in summer.

Live black box

Cseries wing and fuselage breaking tests proved them stronger than hoped:

Bombardier may achieve weight reductions.
Or perhaps weight boost?
