Just noticed that the inbound TCX flight from FUE to MAN is being operated by a Jet2 757. I’m assumming that some TCX aircraft are off schedule due to the weather and Jet2 are helping them out.

STN will be back for the summer full time. LGW is a winter only operation at present on the 737 due to a number of Ski series charter flights.
It Ops weekend only this winter with Titan operating the STN mail flights whilst a Jet2 QC is on mx over the winter. Jet2 still have a series charter programme and the JER newspaper flights ex STN.
Similar Operations happen each year somewhere on the network, last year was a Europe Airpost 737F operating one of our mail flights ex EDI, before that an Atlantic Electra.
You found your password again then?! 😀

LS used to have a charter only base at STN, not sure if that’s still the case. Perhaps FlyMonarch can enlighten us.

Yeah we still have the Charter base at STN, however it was moved to LGW for the winter, (offereing more lapland etc flight from there) and possiblt on the cards to change it to LGW perm..
As for Charters from MAN, yup we do them from there too aswell as any other bases… we do a lot for TCX especially in the summer time, aswell as other carries with tech/crewing issues etc…
After all Charter and Adhoc is what the company started doing in the first place (Channel Express) 😎

Belfast – Reus, Mahon
Jet2.com go to Mahon from BELFAST, this is not a charter flight it is a scheduled flight. Last summer Mahon was served by both Jet2 and Thomas Cook, Both on Fridays.

It does indeed still have a charter only base at STN with only one aircraft based there full time.

shame tcx have dropped BMI for its spare work we had an excellent flight to Milan with them skiing 2 winters ago

I think you will find that most of the flights are not exclusively charters for TCX, they are existing Jet2 flights with seats for Thomas Cook on there. Helps Jet2 fill the flights and Thomas Cook Holidays offer more flights/destinations.

I looked at the back of Thomas Cook Summer Sun brochure and these are the Jet2 charters:
Belfast – Reus, Mahon
Edinburgh – Reus
Leeds Bradford – Faro, Malaga, Heraklion, Sharm El Sheikh, Tenerife
Manchester – Malaga, Ibiza,
Newcastle – Malaga, Rhodes
All bases. So i’m guessing there are no other bases.
However, Thomas Cook seem to be doing a lot of chartering with BMI.

Don’t Jet2 have one of 737QC based at Stansted? If this is the case then I’m sure that this will be the ac that they use on occasional charters during the day.

even Stansted had a LS code.

well i guess with al of tuesdays TCX long haul to Man being diverted to Gatwick, and the wednesdays Gatwick TCX being diverted to Man things are a bit stretched at TCX

Jet2 are doing chartering on behalf of TCX in the summer season. I seen at the back of the brochure, even Stansted had a LS code.

Nice, was quite a regular occurance over the summer, and like you say with the WX lately i’m sure there’s plenty of TCX a/c off schedule!
