Yes, I know it wasn’t destroyed, but it did do a lot of damage…
er…..it was a club aircraft his mum owned……..anyway the accident report blamed the runway for being 200′ too short………..:o

It always amazes me how much events get twisted around when there are pictures involved. It wasn’t a revenue flight but a reposition by 2 mechanics.

This happened in October 2002. The aircraft was eventually written off.
That stuff about the A/T Take-off mode disconnecting the brakes is garbage though.

Were they trying to save fuel?
I often watched Dash 7s taxi on 2 engines, once watched 1 line-up for T/O, power up the inner engines to max, whilst outer props stationary. He was informed to hold (by then he had also spotted the problem) after that I aways thought it bad practice to do so.
