According to Sky News:
BAA has won its appeal against a Competition Commission ruling that it must sell three of its airports.
The airport operator won part of its appeal after the Competition Appeal Tribunal concluded “with the greatest reluctance” that a claim by BAA of “apparent bias” was justified.
In March the Competition Commission (CC) ordered BAA to sell Stanstead and either Glasgow or Edinburgh because of its concerns over competition at its seven airports. It also ordered BAA to sell Gatwick Airport within two years but the company had already made the decision to offload it.
BAA said it has been treated unfairly because one of the CC airports’ inquiry panel had “a powerful connection” to the Manchester Airport Group, which had been interested in buying Gatwick.

Hmmm.. the way I read today’s news is that a member of the original ‘panel’ has been exposed as having slightly tenous links to Manchester Airport Group, therefore the jury is out but the original competition claims appear to be valid.
BBC Scotland are reporting that a potential GLA or EDI sale has now been cancelled and both will remain as Ferrovial operated airports. I’m not sure about that to be honest…
