Flew a model yesterday

When I was little and made a model in a matter of hours on a rainy day, it was then flown around the lounge and around the house and ended up gathering dust on a shelf.

Yesterday flew an Airfix model for real in the shape of the Auster AOP.6 VX113 (G-ARNO) which has just been rebuilt to stock military condition. VX113 was used as a source of information for the AOP.6 kit in the 1960s and was I believe re-issued circa 1980 before the recent Antartic version. I built one of these when I was a teenager and last night it was weird to see it sitting there, when only a few hours earlier I had flown in the very same aeroplane.

Now I think I will have to get my hands on an unbuilt one for my collection. Wonder if there are any still around?
