Paris, FRANCE – A Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 bound for Singapore had to turn around mid-flight and land in Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris due to power issues in the galley.
Flight SQ333 left the French capital with more than 400 passengers on-board on Wednesday at around 6.15pm. However, its captain decided to return to Paris to rectify the problem two hours into the flight.

No shopping boutiques, coffee bars or fitness centre on board (as mentioned in the pre-launch hype)?
Alas, not. But, a decent amount of room is enough for me.

Hello from Australia, where I am until New Year.
I flew part of the way here on a SIA A380 and what a great aircraft it is: quiet, roomy and very, very comfortable.
It’s unfortunate that there have been some teething problems but it must be the way to travel for long-distance flights.

A mate of mine was a flying spanner on DAS Air 707’s many years ago and he told me that there are three things that, if defective, will always keep any aircraft on the ground – galleys, aircon and bogs. Comfort is everything 🙂

Were they “on instruments” at the time and was the “autopilot” inflated??

Remember the spoof film “Airplane” I think it was, when the coffee machine broke down?

Power issues in the galley… Is that strictly an A380 problem ?
It is to the media…the aircraft is doomed to fall out of the sky
