Police helicopter guides BA 757 to safety

Nice photo there! I was born in 1984 and hooked on aircraft from around age 3. I have sooo many nice memories of growing up seeing the B757’s come over my house landing at Heathrow. I was at LHR a few days ago and photographed a few of the B757’s, sad that was probably the last time i’ll see them in BA livery. Lovely looking plane and a lovely sound too, one of my all time faves.

One of my favourites too and the only type still in BA service to have worn all British Airways liveries…

Yes indeed, an almost 27 year service history is soon coming to an end. BA and Eastern (US) were joint launch customers for the 757 back in early 1983 and yes I can still recall the first day of service and all the fuss made in the press and on the news at the arrival of this “state of the art” airliner.

But the Sun isn’t the most reputable news paper in the UK

Maybe those Castlemilk yobs got excited at the sight of a BA 757 instead of the usual Airbus and decided to ‘point it out’ for all to see….;):D But you are right Kevin, why let the facts get in the way of a good story…:diablo:
