Plane forced to divert after cockpit window cracks in mid-flight
Daily Mail today. Drama.
This follows an article asking why are planes falling out of the sky?

over sensationalized, no research or statistics to back up anything.
You think that’s over-sensationalized? That’s incredibly tame compared to some of the crap I’ve read!

This article is nowhere near as bad as some articles I’ve seen, like for example the BBC’s ‘Ryanair Jet In Death Plunge From The Skies’ (or words to that effect)….

It is pretty craply sensationalist, isn’t it?
Welcome to the world of the media! That’s what they do. This article is nowhere near as bad as some articles I’ve seen, like for example the BBC’s ‘Ryanair Jet In Death Plunge From The Skies’ (or words to that effect) headline a couple of years ago when an aircraft lost cabin pressure and did a perfectly normal and safe emergency decent. The BBC, as they do because they’re idiots (no offence, Ren Frew!), implied perfectly normal procedures employed by every airline the world over were unsafe and Ryanair were negligent in informing the passengers of what was happening.
Frankly, any airline who keeps passengers sat on a plane for 5 and a half hours deserves a load of negative publicity!

“the Senate is even considering a bill that would require airlines to evacuate passengers after three hours on the runway” … i think they mean taxiway…
“Want to save yourself hours of discomfort on the runway? Consider this list before you book your next flight” … the list is pretty much every domestic US carrier!!
