When they say he qualified at 17, do they mean with a PPL as I thought you couldnt train for the ATPL until you were 18?

All respect to him and his family, but i’m still not entirely sure why EasyJet dedicated a B737 to him – plenty of pilots have had careers cut short due to terminal illnesses and they dont have planes named after them. I dont mean to sound insensitive, it just sounded a little strange.

As for that being EasyJets only named plane, say hello to Lucy Mae..

Who is Lucy Mae?

NCL at the moment is a mixed Base of A319’S and the 737s! I prefer the 737s any day but thats just my opinion!

The Main question is have is that G-EZKE one of our 737’s is named the “Daniel Swaddle”

Daniel Died aged 17 just after qualifying to be a pilot. He died of a Brain Tumour!

The Story

Eventully G-EZKE will be retired from the fleet! I was wondering if Easyjet were going to Name an Airbus after him once the 737 pass’s on!

Dude is it really needed to make another thread on this, you opened one asking practically the same question earlier.

No, it isn’t.

David,

You were warned not to do this back in June, and then temporarily banned from posting for ignoring the warnings.

I won’t be warning you again. 😡

Dude is it really needed to make another thread on this, you opened one asking practically the same question earlier, as well as making a new thread on this on pprune when there is the “Easyjet-5” thread…

Nobody will be able to give you an exact answer to why EZY removed the A319 from BFS base. People could guess. It was needed elsewhere perhaps…

Easyjet’s fleet ??

At the current date easyjet have the following aircraft :
Aircraft Total
Airbus A319-100 127
Airbus A320-200 16
Airbus A321-200 5
Boeing 737-700 20

(The EasyJet fleet consists of the following aircraft (at July 2009)

7x B737 are based at Belfast. Others at Newcastle and Luton etc,
How come Easyjet remeoved the based A319 from Belfast. And in the winter or next summer will there be a based A319 , A320 or A321 as it says
”EasyJet plan to have disposed of its entire Boeing 737 fleet by 2011”

Only 18 are in use now. Not sure of the exact timing but I believe they will be gone by 2012.

They’re trying to be a one type airline, like Ryanair etc. Although the acquirement of A320’s and A321’s through absorption messed it up a bit, they’re still the same family of aircraft
