BTW, Il-62 in Monino museum (Russia Airforce Museum near Moscow) and other aircraft also landed on the grass runway (there is no paved airstrip near Museum). Even Tu-144 did it! Although Monino runway was longer.
One Lillenthal standard glider is exhibited in Moscow, in Zhukovskij memorial museum. Russian aerodynamist Nikolai Zhukovskij visited Lilienthal in Germany and bought (or it was a gift, it was many years ago 🙂 ) it.

I have a German DVD about Interflug and on it there is an interview with that pilot and more scenes of that arrival, well worth buying. These discs crop up quite frequently on e-bay Germany. The double DVD on Interflug produced by a company called Limox is fantastic with much about the varied operation that was Interflug.:)
