Hello,
I think the ridiculously long screenshot thread in the fantastic new subforum (!!) proves that we are all more than capable of delivering decent screenshots, but I am curious to know which applications are available (freeware or shareware) that enable users to capture actual video.
I’d really like to make a movie out of my flights.
Thanks! 🙂

Got to agree with Michael there – but if anyone else can work it out and wants to post some interesting (not just average cruising or summit) then please do.

Fraps is the best thing to use – then you can edit it down – be wary as the initial capture files are HUGE!
You’re not wrong. I got a few videos of my Thai A300 taxiing in Hong Kong and then taking off – probably about 90 seconds in all. And even having been recorded at half size, the total file size is 277mb!
It’s amazing just how much this Fraps software affects Flight Simulator. I got a version of it and FS is suddenly down to a not-so-good 9 frames per second!
Perhaps I will stick with my screenshots.

Some videos would be a great idea. Let’s just hope we don’t get a sub forum for “FS Videos”

Fraps i believe is the best around, you can use it to do short videos (freeware) or pay to use it for how much time you want
